FAQ’s

We have an easy digitally-signed rental agreement (see link to a sample here for Dreams Come True Cottage, and here for Clover’s Cottage). As part of each reservation you will be prompted to upload a copy of the primary guest’s government-issued photo identification with a current address.

Gathering a driver’s license or other form of photo-identification protects us (and you) from fraudulent activity and theft of your identity. It gives us a way to confirm your identity as the guests at the time of booking and upon arrival.

We require that the primary guest at our properties be 25 years or older. Additionally, the primary guest must be an on-property guest for the duration of the stay.

Our liability and homeowner’s insurance insists that we know every person that will be at the property. If someone is staying or visiting with you, just add them to your “guest count” on the reservation and list their name on the rental agreement. Keep in mind that we do have a limit to the number of guests permitted at our properties.

We know that “life happens” and sometimes plans must change.  We recommend that every guest protect their financial investment by purchasing travel insurance.  Go HERE for some recommendations.  If you booked DIRECTLY with us (not via Vrbo or another online travel agency), we will refund a prorated amount if we are able to re-rent the dates.  For specific details, see our sample rental agreement HERE (Cape May Beach), and HERE (Clover’s Cottage).

We love pets at Wandering Way Retreats. Dogs are an easy “yes”, but tell us about them. Size, weight, and breed. We can accommodate nearly all dogs. Our pet fee is per stay and covers up to two dogs, up to 60 pounds total as a guideline. If you have some other pet(s) you want to travel with, reach out and let us know. We can find out more and may very well be able host your special furry or scaley family members.

Our goal is to be as flexible as possible for check-in and check-out times. Due to the unique scheduling and maintenance needs at each property, our ability to offer early check-in or check-out varies depending on the property and the season. For example, for a beach week in the summer at Dreams Come True Cottage, give us a call or text upon arrival to the area and we can check to see if the cleaners have finished their work a little early to allow for check-in a little early. For off-season visits at all our properties, we can often allow for arrival earlier and check-out later (if there are no directly adjacent reservations). If you want to arrive before 2 pm or depart after 2 pm, we will ask our guests to add an additional night’s stay.

We always make an effort to keep up with the technology of the times.  Our properties offer high-speed internet, smart TVs for streaming (no cable), a workspace if you need to check-in with the office or do somde work, and even a spare HDMI cable for gaming on a rainy day.  See HERE for some instructions and additional information for Dreams Come True Cottage, and HERE for Clover’s Cottage.

No need to include ANY linens on your packing list, because we take care of it all for you and full linen service is included in the cost of your stay.  See HERE for linen details at Dreams Come True Cottage and HERE for Clover’s Cottage.

Rural Pennsylvania, and western Schuylkill County in particular, is a private getaway kind of place. Clover’s Cottage is a retreat of privacy and quiet. But there are also interesting and unique things about the area that you might not otherwise know about without a visit to the area. If you like to see and feel a bit of Amish life, this can be your place. If you like off-roading, hiking, or fishing, it can be found here. If amusement parks are your thing, we are centered between two of the best (Knoebel’s Grove Amusement Park and Hersheypark)! The area has special attributes all seasons of the year. Lighting the Vinyards in the winter months is a nighttime beauty at Benigna’s Winery. Seeking hawks at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in the fall can be combined with a relaxing hike. Welcoming spring at the Hershey Gardens Butterfly Atrium will warm you happy heart. All summer long (and a little bit of spring and fall) you can tour the unique and historic Pioneer Coal Mine & Steam Train. Visitors are welcome all year at the Yuengling Brewery (America’s oldest brewery) tour (and it’s free). Sit a stay by the firepit by the pond, or venture out into rural Pennsylvania. We are a great place to wander.

The ocean’s beaches in Cape May are often the draw for folks visitng the area. Many also love the historic, complex, and colorful Victorian architecture of America’s Frist Resort. Dreams Come True Cottage snuggles right up against all the shopping, tours, theatre, and food of Cape May, New Jersey. But in our neighborhood, Cape May Beach, we have the additional benefit of an exceedingly convenient and family-friendly bayside homebase. The cottage is only 387 steps to our quiet Delaware Bay beach, where your dog is welcome and the price is free. If you love nature and the outdoors, our area is home to the world’s largest spawning population of horseshoe crabs in May and June and we have miles upon miles of bike and hike trails just outside our door. The southern tip of NJ is home to significant birding spots and nature preserves, and history expands below Exit 0 with the Cape May Lighthouse, the wreck of the SS Atlantus (a concreat ship, go figure!), and “ghost tracks” that appear occasionally on area beaches, remnants of a century-old railroad. Cape May County is a four-season destination, so do not limit yourself to summertime. The events, tours, sights and sounds change throughout the year, but are always a great time to visit! The Cape May area will turn your notions about “the Jersey Shore” on its head. We are the best place to wander for your your next mid-Atlantic beach vacation!
